“As I was growing up, I had the opportunity to meet several therapists. While I connected with some of them, others didn't quite resonate with me. However, when I spoke with him , it felt like he genuinely listened and comprehended my thoughts and feelings. In the past, I often felt like therapists were merely going through the motions and not truly seeing the real me. But during my first visit with John, I genuinely felt heard and understood.”

“My son has been seeing Mr. Jon for approximately 3 months. He is an amazing counselor in my opinion. He listens to what is going on and genuinely cares about the problems that you are going through. He does not try to put a band aide on the problem and move onto the next thing, he truly helps you to work through whatever the problem is and to create steps that help you and him to know that you are moving forward in your care. We have not completed my son's care however, I have seen the way that my son feels safe speaking with him and how he can talk to him in a way that he does not talk with anyone else about his problems. I honestly recommend Mr. Jon to anyone who really needs help and wants to get better.”

Getting to know Jon Williams

What do you hope would be better about yourself, your life, your marriage, or your family? This question is my chief focus as a therapist. I get to the heart of what you truly want and hope for in the first session, always beginning with the end in mind. I believe hope is an essential mechanism for change in human beings. Hope drives us to accomplish the greatest feats in our lives. I have assisted people in striving for hope through my work in ministry, youth work, crisis response, and counseling. I work with individuals, couples, and families, and I especially enjoy helping couples rediscover a hopeful marriage. I hold a Master's in Professional Counseling from Amridge University, which has equipped me with the skills to support you on your journey toward healing and growth.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I specialize in Solution Focused Therapy, a very positive and "straight to the point" approach when it comes to you getting what you want out of the therapeutic process. I believe every client is a Superman (or Superwoman) hiding in a Clark Kent outfit. In therapy, we work together to help you bring out the version of yourself you have always wanted to be.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We start with defining what successful therapy looks like and how we would know when therapy was doing its job. From there, we work backwards to help you take steps towards these best hopes and becoming the version of yourself you want to be.
