Getting to know Jonathan Gregg

Hello! My name is Jonathan Gregg, and I am a former law enforcement officer with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Faulkner University. I am currently licensed as a Professional Counselor (LPC) through the state of Alabama. For the past three years, I have worked as an inpatient counselor at a men’s treatment facility for substance abuse, addressing substance use and related underlying issues such as trauma, grief, mental illness, and relationship challenges. During my time in law enforcement, I witnessed firsthand the urgent need for practical, solutions-based treatment for individuals on both sides of the justice system.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Together, clients and I explore the unique issues that bring them to treatment, then utilize a holistic integrative treatment model to develop available options for those issues; all while recognizing maladaptive patterns and learning to self-regulate. Due to my background, issues surrounding men's family roles and substance abuse are particularly familiar.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My goal is to empower clients with the tools that they need to live a healthy life; whether that tool is mental health medication from a parallel provider, cognitive behavioral tools, meditation or spiritual practices, healthy lifestyle, clinical support using evidence-based practices, or any other aspect of the biopsychosocial behavioral model.
