What should a new client know about working with you?

I approach therapy from a family systems perspective, which looks at the person in context of his or her upbringing, family life, and unique history. Within this context, I weave in relevant metaphors, cognitive behavioral elements, and have a narrative approach so that you will feel free to tell your story, and have it be known. I enjoy having meaningful conversations with my clients that are vibrant and full of life. I will meet you where you are and will help you get where you want to be.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Using a person-centered approach that focuses on solutions, I typically begin with a "cliff-notes" check-in that is patient driven. I get to know the highs and lows of your past week, successes and challenges. This leads to a good starting point for what we will discuss. After spending a few minutes on this, we dive into the relational, interpersonal, and other concerns that brought you to therapy that are rooted in interactions and communication. My goal-oriented approach focuses on what you are able to do regardless of your circumstances, and with plenty of support and encouragement to do so. At the end we wrap-up together, verify the next session, and revisit how I may be reached in-between sessions if necessary.

I offer services with or without insurance coverage. I have a sliding-scale fee, starting at $150.00 per session (including intake and other offered services).
