Hi there, I'm Jonathan! My name is Riley Murdock. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from Arizona State University. I believe in finding the good in all of my clients. I believe that we are doing the best we can, and if we can pinpoint what is holding us back, then we'll naturally work through those issues. I guess my superpower as a therapist is my ability to believe in you. I care about my clients, and I'm able to stay in your corner-to support you and help you figure out your next steps. My approach I use an eclectic mix of therapy modalities to help you get the most growth possible. Tried and true is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, where I work with you to explore your actions, behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. I'll help you work through these areas and make minor adjustments to your behavior or thoughts to create bigger changes. I also practice narrative therapy-the use of stories to promote healing and change. I use motivational interviewing, strengths-centered therapy, and solution-focused therapy. Basically, I'm trained in what to say and how to say it in order to help you identify your own capacity and resilience. I believe you are not your problems but rather navigating them to get to your solution. I was trained as a trauma therapist, so I do a lot of work with this as well. My focus Short answer: all types. Longer answer: I work with people who have anxiety, depression, who feel powerless, trapped, confused, and who don't have the courage or knowledge to make decisions and changes in their lives. I work with men and women, kids from 11 upward. I also do couples work. I work with all types of trauma. I specialize in working through challenges that hold us back from growth. My communication style I'm pretty informal. I'm as casual and straightforward as I can be. Our sessions are usually a back-and-forth discussion.
