Getting to know Jonathan Shedlo

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's transcendent quote, "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye," is my guiding light in therapy. I seek to empower you by providing the tools to support your journey toward self-love and self-acceptance. I view our sessions as an opportunity to work collaboratively with the intention of making meaning out of your life, no matter what you may be coming to therapy for. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Hunter College, City University of New York, and a Bachelor’s degree from Yeshiva University, which inform my compassionate and client-centered approach.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use an eclectic approach to therapy which is humanistic, holistic and trauma informed. I strongly uphold the conviction that you are the expert on your feelings. The modalities informing my practice are Strengths Based approaches, Allyship, Attachment Theory, Humanistic Therapy, and Psychodynamic Theories.

What is your typical process for working with clients?
