Getting to know Jonita Mckinney

Are you feeling overwhelmed or stuck? Whether it’s navigating relationships, managing stress, or finding clarity amidst life’s challenges, I’m here to help. As an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist and a proud U.S. Army veteran with 11 years of service, I bring a unique perspective to my work, particularly when supporting veterans and individuals from all walks of life. Using a holistic approach, we’ll work together to address emotional struggles, build resilience, and develop practical skills to help you regain control and live more intentionally. Forgiveness, self-acceptance, and gratitude are key to a balanced mental life, but so are skills like managing anxiety, overcoming depressive patterns, and cultivating stronger relationships. Together, we’ll explore these areas and more to help you create meaningful change. I also emphasize the importance of physical well-being—like maintaining a healthy diet, sound sleep, and a supportive community—because mental health thrives when mind and body work together. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from Clark Atlanta University, where I focused on mental health and wellness. I also hold an undergraduate degree in Human Services from Saint Leo University and am a Human Services Board Certified Practitioner. My approach integrates emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and multidisciplinary techniques to empower clients on their path to wellness. Life can feel uncertain, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. Let’s work together to uncover the strength and clarity you need to thrive.
