"Hello! My name is Jopy Baker. I live in El Paso, Texas. I have been married since 2015. My wife and I have two children. Life is busy to say the least! When we are not working or in school (my wife is a 2nd grade teacher), we try to spend as much time outdoors as possible. I believe there is a healing element to nature and I try to incorporate this into my own wellbeing as well as encourage others to unplug as often as they can. I attended The University of Texas at El Paso for both my undergraduate and graduate studies. I graduated with a Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling in 2015. Professionally, I have been able to work with a wide-variety of clients in multiple different settings. I started my professional career working with adolescents in an inpatient treatment center. Since then, I have worked two years with an adult population in a correctional setting. I currently work full time as a Military Family Life Counselor in a school setting. I believe everyone can benefit from therapy. I specialized in treating trauma and have extensive experience working with individuals who are affected by depression, anxiety, and family/work stress. The therapeutic approaches I rely mostly on are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. I also have training in the theory and use of Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). There are a few different options you could use to schedule an appointment with me.
