Getting to know Jordan Champa

The provider is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern. I am a counselor with an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College. I come from a background of serving individuals with chronic mental illness, as well as supporting individuals navigating through anxiety, depression and trauma. My goal is to help children and adults gain a deeper understanding of themselves and provide them with the tools to confidently navigate life’s challenges and achieve personal goals. I look forward to walking alongside this journey with you!

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is integrative, utilizing a person-centered approach in order to foster a welcoming and trustworthy environment– one where you feel accepted, understood and safe to express your true self. I use elements of cognitive behavioral therapy to transform unhelpful thoughts and beliefs into developing healthier response patterns. Evolutionary psychology and neurocounseling are fundamental towards my approach to support trauma processing, through helping clients understand their emotional and physiological responses, learn nervous system relaxation techniques and shifting feelings of self-blame towards self-acceptance. I understand that my approach is not one-size-fits-all, and am more than happy to explore other approaches to best fit your needs to achieve your goals.
