Jordan Downey, LISW - CP

Psychotherapist
SC
Hi there! I specialize in helping children, teens, and young adults navigate the tough stuff—whether that’s anxiety, trauma, or the lingering effects of PTSD. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where young people feel empowered to grow, heal, and thrive. Using evidence-based approaches like CBT, TF-CBT, and Attachment-Based Family Therapy, I work collaboratively with clients (and their families) to build on strengths, develop healthy coping skills, and move toward meaningful goals. I bring high expectations, a trauma-informed lens, and—yes—a sense of fun to every session, because therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy to make a big impact. I believe every one has the potential to succeed when they’re given the right tools, encouragement, and connection. If you're looking for someone who blends clinical skill with warmth, humor, and a passion for helping young people grow, I’d love to connect.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When working with me, clients can expect a warm, supportive, and engaging therapeutic environment where they feel seen, heard, and valued. I prioritize building strong, trusting relationships and create a space where children and young people can be themselves—whether they're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, shut down, or unsure of what they need. I use a trauma-informed lens in all of my work, and I tailor evidence-based approaches like CBT, TF-CBT, and Attachment-Based Family Therapy to meet each client’s unique needs. I believe in setting clear goals together and working toward them with intention, consistency, and curiosity. Therapy with me often includes creativity, playfulness, and even humor—because growth doesn’t have to be boring, and healing doesn’t have to be heavy all the time. I hold high expectations while offering compassion and flexibility, helping clients build confidence, resilience, and skills that last beyond the therapy room.
