Jordan Futrell, LSW

Psychotherapist
PA
I believe therapy should be a safe and supportive space where people can talk openly without feeling judged. I work with individuals who may be struggling with anxiety, trauma, life stress, relationship concerns, ADHD, or emotional overwhelm. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you are used to handling things on your own. My goal is to create a calm and welcoming environment where you feel heard, respected, and understood. I take a compassionate and collaborative approach to therapy. Together, we work to better understand your experiences, develop healthy coping skills, and build confidence in navigating life’s challenges. I focus on helping clients identify patterns that may be contributing to stress while also exploring practical strategies that support long-term emotional wellbeing. I provide virtual counseling for clients across Pennsylvania and work with adolescents and adults. I am passionate about helping people move toward greater clarity, resilience, and personal growth.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is supportive, patient, and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when clients feel comfortable being themselves, so I take time to build a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship. Sessions are a space where you can slow down and explore what you are experiencing without pressure or judgment. I work at a pace that feels manageable and help clients develop practical tools for coping with stress, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and difficult life situations. Many clients tell me they appreciate that I’m approachable and easy to talk to. My goal is to help you feel supported while also empowering you to better understand yourself and make meaningful changes in your life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, my goal is to get to know you and understand what has been bringing you to therapy. I will ask questions about your current concerns, your goals for therapy, and any important experiences that may be impacting your wellbeing. From there, we will work together to identify the areas you would like to focus on and create a plan for moving forward. I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative and tailored to your individual needs. In ongoing sessions, we focus on building insight, learning coping strategies, and exploring patterns that may be contributing to stress or emotional difficulties. I may incorporate evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral strategies, mindfulness techniques, and trauma-informed care depending on what best supports you. My goal is to help you feel more confident, balanced, and equipped to handle life’s challenges.
