Hi, I’m Jordan Warner, an associate therapist at Dove Counseling Services. I work with teens, adults, and university-age clients who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, stress, or major life transitions. You might be balancing relationships, work or school demands, family expectations, or uncertainty about what comes next. Many of my clients are thoughtful and self-aware, yet still feel stuck, drained, or unsure how to move forward. My goal is to help you gain clarity, build confidence, and feel more grounded in your everyday life. I use a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach that blends cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and supportive, relational work. Together, we focus on understanding patterns, managing anxiety, navigating change, and building practical tools you can use outside of sessions. I also enjoy working with couples and families, supporting healthier communication, deeper understanding, and connection during challenging or transitional times. Therapy should feel safe, collaborative, and human. I meet you where you are, without judgment, and we move at a pace that feels right for you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In our first session, we’ll slow things down and focus on what’s bringing you in right now, what your life looks like day to day, and what you hope might feel different. I’ll ask questions, but you’re always in control of what you share. Early sessions focus on building trust, identifying patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and beginning to practice a few concrete tools you can use outside of sessions. We’ll set goals together and check in regularly to make sure therapy feels helpful and aligned with your needs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I begin by learning what has and hasn’t worked for you in the past, how you prefer to learn, and what feels safe or challenging in therapy. From there, we collaborate on goals and I draw from approaches such as CBT, DBT-informed skills, mindfulness, and trauma-informed, strengths-based practice. I tailor tools so they fit your personality, values, and real-life routines. I also check in often about pace and approach, making adjustments as needed so therapy feels supportive, practical, and genuinely collaborative.
