Getting to know Joseline Gonzalez

I am a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults impacted by trauma or intellectual disabilities. I received my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. As a therapist, I work with a wide variety of populations and ages and have developed a specialization in intellectual disabilities, complex trauma, depression, anxiety, ODD, and ADHD.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a therapist, I use a collaborative approach with my clients to help them gain a healthy understanding of themselves and build skills to manage the challenges and difficulties in life. My work stems from using neurodivergent approaches as well as a variety of frameworks such as relational theory, acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I individualize my approach to each new client and appreciates how each person is unique and needs treatment that is tailored to each client.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I strive to create a safe and welcoming space for my clients to feel heard, acknowledged, and validated as well as help them learn about their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors to meet each of their individual needs as a person.
