Mr. Joseph DiLaurenzio, MSEd, is a Mental Health Counselor and a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor specializing in the treatment of personality disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and co-occurring substance-use disorders. Mr. DiLaurenzio received his Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. John's University. During his studies, he worked in both an OPWDD-funded residential treatment facility serving individuals with diagnoses of ID/DD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), as well as a NYS-funded OMH (Office of Mental Health) and OASAS (Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services) supported housing program, providing services to individuals with SPMI (Severe and Persistent Mental Illness) and substance-use disorders.
Mr. DiLaurenzio has completed extensive training in various therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based treatments such as MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction), MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy), and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). He currently holds multiple certifications, including NCC (National Certified Counselor), CDBT (Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy), CASAC-2 (Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor-Level 2), CCATP (Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional), C-PD (Certified Personality Disorder Treatment Provider), CTMH (Certified Telemental Health Provider), CMC-1 (Certified Mindfulness Informed Clinician-Level 1), CDMDTP (Certified Depression and Mood Disorder Treatment Professional), and CCFP (Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional).
