Hello, I'm Joseph. I obtained my Master's degree in Counseling in 1991 from Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. Since then, I've dedicated my career to helping individuals and families navigate their mental health journeys. In 1995, I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a role that has allowed me to support countless clients through various challenges and life transitions. Prior to this, I was a Licensed Bachelor Social Worker (LBSW) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in Texas, which provided me with a broad foundation in mental health care and substance abuse treatment. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working in psychiatric hospitals, where I held several positions, including Director of Clinical Services. These experiences have enriched my understanding of complex mental health issues and equipped me with the skills to offer comprehensive and compassionate care. My specialties include adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, anger management, anxiety, ADHD, depression, multicultural/diversity issues, PTSD, intimate/romantic relationships, stress, and trauma. I also offer SonderMind Video Telehealth services, making therapy accessible and convenient for my clients. I believe in creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard and understood. My approach is collaborative, and I strive to empower my clients to achieve their goals and improve their well-being.
