Getting to know Joseph Emile

I am a mental health counselor licensed in Florida with 5 years of work experience. I have experience in helping clients from all walks of life; these include stress, anxiety, anger management, motivation, self esteem, confidence, depression, and coping with life changes. I have served in numerous mental health settings like hospitals, private practice, treatment centers, and community mental health agencies. During these moments, I have worked with numerous populations such as children, adolescents, young adults, older adults, and elders (the elderly). During the first session, the client and therapist will engage in addressing one's understanding of therapy, suicidal and homicidal ideation history, the conditions of a safe-space in therapy, treatment goals, and the direction of future sessions. In addition, confidentiality and duty to warn will be addressed as well. As a therapist, my greatest strength is my authenticity during treatment. I am here to actively listen, with empathy, to what has been causing the client distress and working with them to find the best solution. I utilize a direct approach with my clients in order to help them foster a better understanding of the benefits of accountability. I have experienced a very unique and eventful life that has allowed me the opportunity to hold space for a variety of individuals and lifestyles.
