Getting to know Joseph Simon

Taking the initiative to seek therapy takes courage, and choosing the right therapist matters. As a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia, I work with clients who are motivated to understand themselves better, improve their emotional well-being, and create lasting change. I consider my approach eclectic and individualistic. Since I am primarily influenced by Solution Focused Brief Therapy, however, I believe in taking a strengths based approach that empowers the client to make changes at their own pace. I also pull from CBT, narrative therapy, person-centered, and other approaches. I believe that much of your healing journey begins with you feeling comfortable with me as your therapist. Therefore, I take the time to get to know you, your life experiences, and how you seek to benefit from our work together. Finally, I believe it is important to at least briefly discuss your goals and at least one change to make right away. I have undergraduate degrees from the University of Georgia and completed my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University in 2023. Outside of counseling, I enjoy anything related to sports (watching, participating in and coaching my children) and spending time outside with family.
