Getting to know Joseph Walsh

I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, and challenging family experiences. Using collaborative talk therapy and EMDR, I support clients in processing emotions, building self-compassion, and developing a deeper understanding of their life experiences. I hold an MSW from Hunter College and have extensive experience providing virtual care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

“Come as you are.” That’s my invitation to anyone starting therapy with me. My goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can bring your full self - no edits required.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first sessions focus on getting to know you: what matters most to you, what’s been on your mind, and what you hope to explore in therapy. From there, we move at a pace that feels right for you, providing space to reflect, explore challenges, and consider new perspectives. Bring yourself, bring your questions, bring whatever you’ve been carrying. Together, we’ll work to understand your experiences and explore the next steps in your journey.
