People often come to therapy when the ways they have learned to cope no longer work the way they used to. Maybe you have become good at pushing through, staying busy, avoiding conflict, managing other people’s needs, or appearing fine from the outside. What once helped you get through may now feel exhausting, lonely, or hard to sustain. Therapy offers a place to slow down and understand our patterns with more care. Rather than treating symptoms or behaviors as problems in isolation, I am interested in helping examine how those patterns of behavior have helped you manage, what they may be protecting, and where they are falling short. From there, we can begin to create more room for choice, connection, and change. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if you are used to handling things on your own or are unsure what it would mean to let someone else really understand what you are carrying. My goal is to meet that process with respect and a pace that feels safe for you. Your experience is unique, and I try never to assume I know your story before you have had the chance to tell it. I work to create a nonjudgmental space grounded in honesty, trust, and respect. In that kind of relationship, there is room to reflect more openly, without the pressure to perform or be what others need you to be

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is collaborative, holistic, and grounded in harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness. I focus on helping you better understand your experiences while building tools that feel useful, realistic, and sustainable in daily life. I see mental health as deeply connected to the body, environment, and everyday experience. Therapy is tailored to each person and may include mindfulness, body awareness, reflection, and exploring how movement, rest, nature, and daily routines support well-being. When meaningful, I also hold space for exploring spirituality. Whether through values, sense of purpose, cultural or spiritual beliefs, or what helps you feel grounded and aligned. My goal is to create a space that feels supportive, intentional, and empowering where you can build insight, reconnect with yourself, and show up as you are.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My clinical experience includes crisis intervention, trauma informed care, psychosocial assessment, and care coordination across community mental health, legal aid, and community crisis intervention settings. I earned my Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and have additional training in trauma informed and neurodevelopmentally informed approaches, including the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics.
