Do you feel disconnected from those that are supposed to love and support you? Do you ever feel exhausted and unsafe to remove your armor and just be yourself? Many men feel powerless or isolated due to the constant, unseen pressure of having to "perform" regardless of their problems. The result is a short fuse that impacts relationships and work. Navigating the aftermath of trauma or chronic stress requires a space where you don't have to know all the answers. It's about finding the version of yourself that feels calm, capable, and in control. To live by choosing where you go in life and where to put your efforts and energy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first session focuses on building rapport, letting me get to know you and for you get a feel for me and determine if we are a good fit for your specific therapeutic goals. We will also discuss both effective and ineffective coping skills you may be using and start discussing and practicing more effective ways to cope and overcome your difficulties.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I am very open minded and nonjudgmental in therapy. I tend to be very supportive but can also be direct in helping patients challenge their ineffective thoughts and behaviors in overcoming their struggles. Unless we agree to use a specific treatment approach that requires it, I do not have a structure or an agenda for sessions. Rather, patients are free to talk about whatever is bothering them, and I look for patterns that can be altered to help the client meet their specific goals for therapy.
