Josh Jude, LPC

Psychotherapist
53 W Jackson Blvd, Ste 1501, Chicago, IL
I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northwestern University. I also hold a master’s degree in English rhetoric and composition from the University of Massachusetts Amherst where I wrote my capstone on the need for democratized access to mental health services for queer youth and young adults. I’m dedicated to advocating for and supporting the LGBTQIA+ clients, couples, and communities, especially during this time when we are at heightened risk of marginalization and exclusion.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a queer and queer-affirming clinician, I believe emotional health is heavily tied to our attachments and healing happens through connection–including the therapeutic connection we create together. Though I love working with adults of all backgrounds, I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples. My approach is kink-affirming and open to individuals in non-monogamous or non-traditional relationship structures. My goal is to provide a secure and encouraging space for you to explore what kind of relationships you want and what you want from your relationship to yourself. My approach is relational and collaborative. I may bring in some cognitive behavioral or dialectical behavioral methods, but more than anything, your story matters. I know asking for help can be intimidating, and sometimes therapy feels like a lot of work. But working toward your most authentic self is rewarding–and, occasionally, even fun. Let’s dive in together!
