Getting to know Joshua Burks

Hi, I'm Joshua. I graduated in 2016 with my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and received my full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2019. I believe that the counseling journey is a very personal and difficult one, but the rewards are often well worth the struggle. My approach is cognitive and pragmatic in nature, meaning I like to use our minds to understand what we are doing in a way that makes the most sense to you. I work alongside my clients to help them move in the direction of the goals they have for themselves. I use humor often and try to make myself very approachable and down-to-earth. I work with anyone over the age of 12 and especially focus on work with the male population. My specialties include addiction, anger management, anxiety, ADHD, borderline personality disorder, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, depression, grief/bereavement, military/veteran support, spirituality, stress, and trauma.
