Joshua Hayes, LPC

Psychotherapist

Therapy is a place where people go to talk about uncomfortable things in an unfamiliar setting. No one wants to talk about uncomfortable things with someone they're not comfortable with. Therefore, my number one goal as a therapist is to develop a good therapeutic relationship. Rapport is the number one, most important factor when it comes to success in therapy. I am certified in trauma therapy. I have gained insight and experience doing trauma work, while also working with people who struggle with substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, schizoaffective disorder, bi-polar, and have experience in many other areas, along the way. I also understand that there is so much more to someone, outside of their diagnosis. Sometimes, a lot of our struggles in life go much deeper than diagnosis. Our core beliefs and perceptions/expectations based off of our experiences, are central to our day-to-day lives'. Yet, sometimes, these aspects are overlooked. As a therapist, I come in with the mindset that I'm not always right. My goal is to work with people through an objective lense, while providing a healthy atmosphere that promotes real discussion with a positive outcome for each individual. Sometimes, that involves a trial-and-error process. There is always more to learn and improve on for everyone in this world. Including the therapist. I grew up on a farm in the middle of nowhere, in western Pennsylvania. I'm a "blue collar" guy, working in a field where, when people from back home find out what I do for a living, their jaws drop. However, I believe this allows me to bring a unique approach into the therapeutic environment. Joshua Hayes is a “Licensed Professional Counselor" and their license number is 37PC01082000
