Getting to know Joshua Perkins

Providing therapy is an honor that I hold with the utmost respect and care. It takes courage to reach out for help, and I work hard to make that process as positive and effective as possible. My approach to therapy is grounded in positive regard, non-judgment, and genuineness. I bring a warm, welcoming, and light presence to each session. Being part of my clients' journeys is a privilege I deeply value. I believe that with the right support, we can move toward purposeful and self-directed living. Together, we can shed ways of being that no longer serve us, begin to live more authentically and congruently, and find solutions to many of the challenges we face. I earned my Master's in Counseling Psychology with an Emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #119232) and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC #8741) in the state of California.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My clients tell me that I am easy to talk to, calm and encouraging, and insightful. My style is open, exploratory, and direct when it's helpful. Therapy with me is a space where you will feel free to express yourself without fear of judgment or criticism.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I work with each client in a collaborative and conversational way. Through our work together, many of my clients come to a deeper and more meaningful experience in their lives and relationships.
