Joshua Roybal, LCSW

Joshua Roybal, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NM
Born and raised in New Mexico, and a proud Army veteran. My years working within the Veterans Health Administration alongside fellow veterans have profoundly shaped how I understand trauma, moral injury, and what it means to move through the hardest chapters of a life. That experience sits at the core of everything I bring into the therapy room. My focus is on complex trauma/moral injury; mood/anxiety disorders (OCD, depression, panic); self-identity crises (low self-esteem, suicidality, grief, life transitions); and specialized behavioral issues like rigid safety behaviors, sleep disruption, and CPAP mask desensitization. Care is provided in a nonjudgmental space that blends genuine warmth with clear clinical direction, giving clients an honest starting point for focused work on their concerns. For those who are unsure of their path, clients do not need to have everything figured out before they arrive, as part of the process is clarifying what kind of support fits best. You don't have to figure this out alone. Whether you're carrying the weight of past trauma, navigating a painful life transition, or struggling with anxiety that has started to shape your daily life — reaching out is an act of courage, and I'm glad you're here. Healing isn't absence of struggle, its building skills and views to no longer be defined by it.
