UpLift Behavioral Health providers do not issue prescriptions for substances controlled by any federal or state agency or other drugs that may be harmful because of their potential for abuse. UpLift Behavioral Health reserves the right to limit the types of medications that may be prescribed by its doctors and nurse practitioners. All prescriptions furnished by UpLift Behavioral Health care providers are issued in accordance with applicable federal and state law as well as UpLift Behavioral Health policy. I have extensive experience working with adults who may be held back from living their most fulfilling life. This is often due to trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety, relationships, or difficult life transitions. My focus as a therapist is to be supportive and provide a confidential and safe space in which you can be yourself. Together, we can explore and identify thoughts and behaviors, anxieties and fears, and habits and patterns that keep you from leading a more rewarding life. I believe we all have it in us to rise up and take charge of our lives at any stage. I earned my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work from the University of Houston, which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to guide you through your journey toward healing and growth. What should a new client know about working with you?

Hope is that thing inside us that insists, despite any evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us if we have the courage to reach for it and to work for it and to fight for it. - Barack Obama Therapy is about Hope. I believe we all have within us the ability to seek change, be fulfilled and enjoy life. But it takes work! I work diligently to provide evidence-based therapy which applies research-proven treatments that are tailored to meet people’s needs, preferences, and cultural expectations. help you discover your own solutions, answers and changes. I love helping people discover their strengths, make peace with their past, acquire new skills, build a healthy support system.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During the first session with a new client, I like to share a bit about how the therapist process works gather some current information as well as history, to help set the framework for the current issues the client wants to address. During subsequent sessions, we will identify therapeutic goals, address a timeframe for meeting those goals, and during each session evaluate the progress made. If crises arise, we will address those as needed. At anytime during any session, "homework" may be given, community resources provided and referrals for additional support given.
