Getting to know Joye Hilton
Life can be extremely challenging at times and we can sometimes feel alone in the process. I applaud you for taking the first step in navigating life by seeking therapy. I am Licensed Professional Counselor South Carolina (2018) with over 15 years of clinical experience and many more years of real life experience that assures me that I can help you become your best self.
My approach
My clinical interests lie in the area of marriage and family dynamics, including marriage, divorce, adoption, foster families, and blended families. I am also experienced working with disorders seen in childhood and adolescence such as ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, and other mood-related disorders. In recent years, I have done some work with trauma survivors who want to regain control of their life. I do work with teens and young adults who identify as LGBTQIA+. I obtained my BS degree in Psychology in 2005 from Fayetteville State University and MA in Counseling in 2009 from Webster University. With my educational background combined with clinical experience working with diverse populations in many different settings, I feel that I can assist patients from different backgrounds navigate through life.

My clinical interests lie in the area of marriage and family dynamics, including marriage, divorce, adoption, foster families, and blended families. I am also experienced working with a variety of diagnosis that impacts both children and adults to include ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Complex Grief, Trauma and other mood-related disorders. This is a safe space for both teens and young adults who identify as LGBTQIA+ in addition to cisgender individuals that are seeking support.
My communication style
I am a strength focused, intentional communicator with my words and my actions. I enjoy a fluid, collaborative exchange with my clients. I allow space and time for questions as well as freedom to express yourself how you see best.
