Hello, my name is Juan Carlos Camps and I'm very excited to work with you soon. Together, we'll work on your goals in our sessions and create a plan to achieve these goals. My ideal client is motivated and open-minded, ready to work, self-selected, willing to work courageously, committed to growth, wants to be a better person, wants to be a good parent or partner, accepts responsibility for change, and actively participates. As a clinician, I utilize a variety of approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, humanistic, solution-focused, and existential. In all cases, I try to adjust my style to meet the needs and preferences of each individual client. I also teach mindfulness to enhance self-awareness and the ability to manage stress. I am a pragmatic and compassionate therapist. I approach therapy as a collaborative encounter, helping clients recognize and cultivate their inner strengths. My primary goal is to help clients achieve creative, meaningful, and holistic responses to the complicated challenges of their lives. I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in and experienced in treating anxiety, depression, life coaching, LGBTQ+, and other life stress issues. I earned my Master's degree in Social Work from Florida International University in 1993. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Miami in 1984.
