She has worked with children, adolescents and families for 30 years using a compassionate behavioral perspective. She also utilizes CBT and psychodynamic influences for adolescents, and adults. Dr. Thorne has additional training and expertise in Perinatal Mental Health, infertility, perimenopause and menopausal issues.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Her therapy style is empathic but honest and Dr. Thorne puts a strong emphasis on a trusting relationship. After relevant data is collected and the initial evaluation is complete, she will come up with goals and objectives with you in a comprehensive treatment plan. Since discovery and change are usual, these may change and fluctuate. The approach will be tailored to the goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Initial evaluation and information gathering may take 3 appointments. Relevant data related to history and current presenting problems will be explored. Each session will be tailored to presenting problem but approached with empathy and nonjudgment.
