Psychotherapist

Congratulations, you have taken the first step! I want you to know I accept teens, adults, couples, and families and allow them to be who they are. I am dedicated to creating a safe environment for teens, adults, couples, and families to maximize their full potential. I have a proven work record with diverse populations and effectively manage a wide range of personalities. I can quickly establish rapport and build trust. My approach I use the Gottman 7 Principles when seeing couples and find it most helpful for the couple and most rewarding. I use Mindfulness to help clients live in the here and now and stay in the present and experience one day at a time. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to show how thoughts affect thoughts and feelings. I am a Grief Recovery Specialist and work from a book with the client called Grief Recovery. At the end of treatment, the client writes a special and powerful letter to the deceased. I specialize in anxiety, ADHD, and depression, and use books and handouts to help you understand the disorder. My focus I would like a client to be part of their treatment and not be afraid or embarrassed to bring what is going on with them into the session. This is how they find who they are on their journey. My communication style I am very calm and patient, and let the client set the tone. I believe that everyone is an individual and should go at their own pace. If need be, I might give a gentle nudge. My journey to mental healthcare I took an evening course in Psychology 5 while in school, and by the end of it, I knew I wanted to become a therapist. I was drawn to understanding people on a deeper level and helping them through their struggles. With support from my dad, I left my job and went back to school, starting from scratch. I loved every moment of learning and felt more certain with each class that I was on the right path.
