I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor licensed in Texas. I have over 9 years of experience working as a psychotherapist. I have over 30 years of experience helping people in crisis while working with nonprofit organizations and government agencies as an administrator, facilitator, counselor and life coach. I work with clients with a variety of life challenges including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, couples counseling, parenting problems, career challenges, life and health challenges, legal problems, domestic violence, complex trauma, many forms of loss, addiction as well as all forms of abuse. My therapy style is empathetic, encouraging, and supportive. I believe in treating everyone with respect and compassion. I believe in educating my clients about their specific mental health and life concerns so that they can make informed choices which empower them to be the best version of themselves. The Therapeutic Techniques that I use most often combine cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), experiential therapy, person/client-centered therapy, motivational interview therapy, brief solution focused therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and family systems therapy. I will customize our dialog, and your treatment plan to meet your individual and specific needs. I am here to help you, and I can only do so if I have a clear understanding of what's going on. - Trust the process: Therapy can be a long process, and it's important to trust that the work you're doing with me will pay off in the end.
