Every individual carries their own inner wounds that need to be dealt with. I believe therapy can help us progress on our healing journey when we are empathetically understood. When we discover our hidden strengths as resources, we are empowered to better understand and relate to ourselves and those around us. Change occurs when people increase their self-esteem, discover their strengths and who they are, and understand the blocks keeping them from improving. I create a compassionate and healing space where empathy guides our work toward understanding and growth. I have been working with depression, anxiety, and relationship difficulties. My heart goes to clients experiencing cultural trauma adapting to a new cultural context and self-exploration. Emotionally secure attachments to our partners enable us to go through difficult times while adapting to changes. When couples find a secure haven within themselves, they can count on each other and learn how to adjust. Art Therapy and the art-making process can naturally help explore underlying emotions and thoughts that were not found before. It also enhances the regulation of unhealthy emotions such as shame, anger, anxiety, and agony without verbal process. I am excited to bring various experiences to our therapy room as a Marriage and Family Therapist and provisional Art therapist. I hold a bachelor’s in Ewha Woman’s University in Korea and a master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Wheaton College in Illinois. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Art Therapy at Adler University. I am honored to bring a systemic perspective and creative approach to holistic healing. I offer therapy in Korean as well.
