Getting to know Julia De Roulet

My therapy practice focuses on helping adults and teenagers, with a specialization in supporting those struggling with disordered eating. I start with new clients by identifying their goals for therapy, then work with them to uncover the underlying patterns, narratives, and thoughts that affect their feelings and behaviors. My work is informed by psychodynamic, Jungian, and psychoanalytic theories, practiced through a trauma-informed lens. I hold a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and a Bachelor’s degree from Columbia University. My training is in depth psychotherapy, which seeks to illuminate the unconscious of both the individual and the collective. In my practice, I like to complement this more abstract and esoteric modality with concrete, practical interventions such as those from the cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy traditions.
