What should a new client know about working with you?

When we begin working together, my goal is to meet you exactly where you are in your mental health journey. I want to understand your experiences, your strengths, and what you hope to gain from therapy so we can move forward at a pace that feels right for you. We may explore parts of your past to better understand where certain patterns or habits began, but our focus will stay on helping you grow and move toward the future you want. A big part of my approach involves gently challenging negative or unhelpful thoughts and learning how to reframe them. Over time, I hope to help you build the confidence and skills to do this on your own. In our sessions, we’ll work together to process difficult moments, understand your emotions, and develop tools that support your well-being. My aim is to create a safe and supportive space where you can feel understood, encouraged, and empowered to become a stronger, healthier version of yourself.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session with me usually begins with a simple check-in. I’ll ask how you’re doing that day so I can understand where you’re at emotionally and identify any immediate concerns that may need attention. From there, we often take a moment to revisit themes or goals from previous sessions to see what progress has been made and what might still feel challenging. While I encourage you to guide the direction of our conversations, I may gently bring our focus to areas that seem particularly important or heavy for you. Throughout our time together, we’ll work on recognizing and challenging negative thoughts, exploring where certain beliefs may have originated, and highlighting your strengths and positive qualities. Toward the end of each session, we’ll regroup to reflect on where you feel you are in that moment and discuss any intentions or small tasks that may be helpful to explore during the week—only if it feels appropriate and supportive for you. My goal is for each session to feel collaborative, grounding, and centered around your growth and well-being.
