Getting to know Julia Gunthner
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, owner and founder of Integrated Wellness Counseling and Consulting LLC. I didn't just go to school to help others; I worked my way up through the behavioral health field to gain as much experience as possible to provide the best services to patients. I attended the University of Arizona and received my bachelor's in Psychology. Then I attended Argosy University and earned a Master's in Mental Health Counseling. For my doctorate degree, I attended Arizona State University and received a PhD in Behavioral Health.
Although my education is extensive, none of that indicates if Integrated Wellness Counseling and Consulting is right for you. The combination of experience and education provides a foundation to support patients from all backgrounds.
Here at Integrated Wellness Counseling and Consulting, the Honu turtle is the spirit and example of the journey-the counselor and patient experience together. My Native Hawaiian ancestors taught me the Honu stands for Wisdom, Longevity, Endurance, and Good Luck. This is the foundation of our business. Life is a journey that, like a wave, ebbs and flows. Some days are better than others, but for those times you feel as if you're drowning, we are here to lend a hand to pull you out of the waves and give you air. Our goal is to help you endure life's difficulties, find wisdom, withstand the next wave, and hopefully find a little luck along the way.

Been going to Julia for a year and she is truly the best. So caring and helps keep you grounded and present. Going in person is much more helpful for me I highly recommend it. I always feel better after an appointment with her! She is a genuinely amazing human being! I’d recommend regardless of gender.

She seems like a very nice person, but I don't like that she feels comfortable using the word ret@rded in front of her autistic client. I also didn't like sitting in the sun on her patio for 20 minutes waiting for an appointment that didn't happen. And finally, her belief that people with ASD are the next step in human evolution was a little too in line with the Indigo child/star seed nonsense. It's really disappointing because I was very hopeful after our initial session despite the use of a slur.

Wonderful personality, honest , funny. Did not feel skewed at any moment. Felt very comfortable. Was like talking to a friend rather than a doctor. Would highly recommend and I will be returning bi weekly. Left feeling more positive about myself and this was only the first appointment!

I can’t thank Julia enough for all that she’s done for my relationship. Wether it’s individual sessions for my husband and myself or a couples therapy session, I always leave feeling so accomplished. She helps me navigate through so many emotions in such a caring manner. And she also gives you the truth so if you’re wrong she’s going to tell you but she will do it in a way that makes you feel comfortable.
