My approach to counseling is built on the belief that you are the expert in your own life and possess an inherent capacity for healing and positive change. My role is to act as a supportive facilitator and guide as you uncover your own insights and solutions. I provide a safe, non-judgmental, and empathetic environment where you feel truly heard, respected, and valued, no matter the challenges you face. In our work together, we will focus on what is possible and changeable, not just the history of the problem. Using a solution-based framework, we will: Identify your strengths and resources: We will recognize what is already working well in your life and leverage those strengths to build momentum toward your desired future. Envision your "preferred future": We will clearly define what life will look like when your concerns are resolved or more manageable, creating a clear roadmap for our sessions. Set concrete, achievable goals: Together, we will outline small, practical steps that lead to significant changes, ensuring progress is tangible and empowering. Explore exceptions: We will look for times when the problem was less severe or absent to find clues for potential solutions. This collaborative and client-led process supports you in feeling confident in your own decisions, building self-trust, and achieving personal growth and self-actualization. I am committed to supporting your unique journey and helping you access the tools you need to create the life you envision.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is warm, solution-focused, and centered on actionable change. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and am nationally accredited in Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT). We will quickly identify your strengths and collaborate on a treatment plan personalized to support your unique path to healing and growth. I am proud to offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for adults and children with Trauma or Complex Trauma, I have successfully treated ODD, AD/HD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and many other diagnosis by providing psychoeducation on the way the brain works, teaching coping skills like breathing methods and mindfulness and providing a supportive environment to encourage development . Many challenges can arise during a lifetime. As a mother of three children with autism, I bring deep personal understanding and professional expertise. I can help navigate through diagnosis and offer some interventions that can help with behaviors that are challenging. I also have years of experience supporting families through adoption, reunification and processing trauma. I understand that reaching out for help can be difficult, and you might be feeling overwhelmed or uncertain about the next steps. It takes courage to consider making a change, and I want you to know that your feelings are valid. You are not alone. My goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental space where we can work through challenges together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy always starts with a good plan. We will work together to development your Individual treatment plan that will act like a guide or a prescription for the work we will do in therapy. I find it important not just to teach, but to listen to the experiences of the client and help find ways to increase positive ways of coping with stress. Some client need support for completing activities of daily living or for planning what that need for their home or life. We will work together to connect with resources in your community that can provide not only help, but hope for the future. No one should ever feel stuck and we will work in collaboration to help you identified those traumas, challenges and barriers that keep you feelings stuck. Our next step is to identify what it is that you want for your future. Do you need healing, do you need a new career, would you like to be more social, do you need healthier coping skills. Whatever we determine is the need we can use structured problem solving to find solutions to fit your need and help you rise above your challenges.
