Psychotherapist

I offer a calm, private, and focused space for adults seeking meaningful change. I specialize in EMDR therapy and work with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, stress, and life transitions—especially when they feel stuck despite past efforts. Since 2017, I’ve supported clients in moving beyond overwhelming experiences and toward greater clarity, confidence, and emotional stability. My approach is structured, intentional, and tailored to each person, blending depth work with practical shifts that carry into daily life. Many of the individuals I work with are high-functioning on the outside but internally feel the weight of past experiences, pressure, or burnout. Together, we focus on resolving what’s underneath—not just managing symptoms—so change feels lasting, not temporary. Sessions are one-on-one and designed to be both efficient and deeply supportive. My goal is to help you feel more like yourself again, with a stronger sense of direction and ease.

Getting to know Julia Schopp

What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients can expect a structured, focused, and supportive approach. I work primarily using EMDR therapy, which helps process and resolve the root of distress—not just manage symptoms. In early sessions, we’ll clarify what’s been feeling stuck, identify patterns or past experiences contributing to it, and build the foundation needed for deeper work. I move at a pace that feels manageable, while still helping you make meaningful progress. My style is calm, direct, and engaged. I’ll guide the process and offer feedback, while also making space for your experience and insight. Sessions are collaborative, but not passive—you won’t be left wondering what to do or where things are going. Many clients begin to notice shifts such as reduced reactivity, clearer thinking, and a greater sense of control in situations that previously felt overwhelming.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I offer a structured, focused approach designed to create meaningful, lasting change. We begin with an initial consultation to understand your goals, history, and what’s been keeping you feeling stuck. Early sessions focus on building clarity, identifying patterns, and establishing a strong foundation so the work feels steady and contained—not overwhelming. From there, I primarily use EMDR therapy to help your brain process and resolve past experiences that continue to impact how you feel, think, and respond today. Sessions are active and intentional. You won’t just be talking—you’ll be working through what’s actually holding things in place. Many clients notice shifts in how they respond to stress, relationships, and internal pressure as the work progresses. I work best with adults who are ready for a deeper, more focused process. Sessions are offered in a private, one-on-one setting in Camas, or via telehealth across Washington and Missouri.

More information on payments and coverage

I am a private pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. Payment is due at the time of service, and I accept major credit and debit cards. For clients with out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, and I recommend contacting your insurance provider to understand your benefits. If needed, I’m open to discussing sliding scale options or single case agreements on a limited basis. My goal is to keep the process simple, transparent, and focused on your care—so you always know what to expect.
