*This provider does not accept any Medicaid or Medicare plans* Julia Smith is a "Associate Counselor" with license number 37AC00857900, practicing under the supervision of Soroya Pognon. I enjoy working with adults, young professionals, and adolescents on identifying triggers, maladaptive patterns, and exploring new coping skills and more beneficial ways to manage life. I offer a warm and understanding space where you can feel free to explore life's challenges. Together we'll collaborate in building a supportive network and implementing practical tools. I'd like to be the person in your corner, encouraging you and cheering you on as you make changes towards a better life. I bring a calm and supportive presence to therapy and create a space where you can bring your flaws, failures, feelings, and future hopes and dreams. I believe change and healing are facilitated through honesty and introspection. I am a plant mom so I know growth may seem slow at times, but consistent watering and sunlight will go a long way. Starting something new can feel a little intimidating at first, but you don't have to climb the entire staircase all at once. I will support you as you take each meaningful step at your own pace. If you feel stunted or stuck and want to see some new growth in your life, there is no better time to start than now. I offer a supportive environment and bring curiosity and care into every session. It would be my honor to support you on your journey. Julia Smith has a Master’s degree from Caldwell University.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal as a therapist is to create a non-judgmental, compassionate space where you feel safe to share openly, reflecting faith-based values of grace and acceptance, with a focus on deep understanding. I became a clinician because I know what it is like to feel down and out, and I want you to feel that restoration and growth is possible.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Julia works with adolescents and adults on issues like enhancing well-being, promoting flourishing; exploring burnout, grief and identity development; increasing self-esteem, and reducing depression, and anxiety. Julia employs an integrative, person-centered approach, combining traditional psychotherapy with expressive art techniques. She has experience supporting clients from all backgrounds and is highly responsive to each client's needs.
