Julianne Bigler is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and is currently working under the supervision of Clinical Supervisor: Kira Milas, LMFT 137654. -- I am an AMFT who is passionate about helping you live the life you're meant to live. Whether you can't seem to get the results you want no matter what you do, feel hopeless, powerless, or "stuck", you can change your life. I approach clients with authenticity and compassion, while helping them create a compassionate relationship with themselves and take courageous action to change their lives.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I love working with children and families experiencing mood and attachment-based problems, as well as sibling rivalry, shyness, and motivation. I also love to work with adults experiencing anxiety and ambivalence, family of origin issues, anger, people-pleasing, and "stuckness". Whether my client is a child or adult, I take into account how clients' attachment patterns affect the problems that brought them to therapy. I blend mindfulness and humanistic approaches to enhance self-efficacy, self-compassion, and emotional hygiene.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I take a direct, insight-driven approach that helps you clarify what you want, identify what’s getting in the way, and work toward practical, meaningful change. When working with children, I incorporate the most influential person in their lives: their parents. I believe child therapy is not just "fixing" a child, but empowering parents to cultivate trust, security and connection within that relationship. Together, we can explore imbalances with curiosity, identify core beliefs and "rules" keeping your problems in place, and move through challenging emotions with self-compassion.
