What should a new client know about working with you?

Your grief is unique to you. I work to help you feel comfortable within your session as you share - like you are talking with a friend. You can expect to share your story and concerns in your first sessions. I look through an Adlerian lens by exploring how you are doing in family, work, community and lifestyle. We will take a holistic approach to your growth. In addition to traditional talk therapy, we will employ various tools such as: -integrate coping strategies -EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) which is also known as tapping, -expressive therapy exploration, -mindfulness. My goal is for you to know yourself within your current situation, improve coping strategies, identify your own "feeling better," and adjust to your new way of living. There is hope. Sometimes it's breath to breath, moment to moment. Clients do graduate from counseling with me. Some folks benefit from a few sessions while others need more. I follow your progress at your pace.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

It may be hard to see right now, you grief will change over time and you will grow during our time together. I will learn about you and your situation within our first session in addition to identifying the focus of our time together. Subsequent sessions will incorporate strengths with coping strategies and processing to make meaning of your experiences. Life is different for you. That change can bring forth all sorts of responses. I'm hopeful for you and honored to walk beside you.
