I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Missouri. Let's partner to feel well and be well! Let's nourish your soul and find healing with evidence-based practices I’ve learned from decades of challenges. We'll go from misery to mastery, bitter to better, and find joy in the journey. YOU are worth investing in! Let’s find peace, balance, and contentment in the midst of crazy times. My approach While I find DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), mindfulness, self-compassion, and faith useful for most people, I'm honored to find the best approach for YOU in coping with life's curveballs, managing long seasons of hardship, and finding hope in the most difficult issues we face. Particular interests of mine include travel, nutrition, movement, parenting struggling children, caregiving, social and environmental justice, race relations, and finding the aspects of faith that are helpful while discerning what doesn't serve you well. My focus If you're hurting and want to heal, most likely we'll get along. I savor working with people of all backgrounds, and enjoy "complex" scenarios. I'll learn from you also as we find purpose in the pain. My communication style Flexible, patient, non-judgmental, friendly, down-to-earth, and gentle. We go at your pace. I don't assume much. If you want tough love, I'll wait until I sense that you're ready. My journey to mental healthcare I grew up in a home where my father had a form of mental illness that didn't respond to typical treatments. He was the "perfect patient" and yet suffered immensely. I don't want anyone to feel alone. You matter, and I won't ever give up on helping people find hope. I understand mental illness, but you understand your story personally. A healing adventure brings your experience and my tools to a brighter future. My goals for you We work on what's important to you. If you need help prioritizing areas, we'll start with the urgent matters and work our way forward.
