Julie Dumois-Sands, LCSW

Psychotherapist
FL
I am a trained mental health therapist dedicated to helping individuals and couples build healthier, happier, more fulfilling lives. With a deep commitment to healing, I specialize in working with those who have experienced distressing life events, integrating evidence-based and holistic approaches to support their journey. My practice is rooted in EMDR, Compassionate Listening (the work of Gabor Maté,) and Somatic Therapy—modalities that address trauma and emotional wounds with care and depth. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy is based on the Adaptive Information Processing model, which holds that we are always working toward health and wholeness. This belief is foundational to my approach, reinforcing the idea that healing is not only possible but innate. As a 500-hour trained yoga teacher, I also weave in the wisdom of yoga, mindfulness, and embodiment practices to foster resilience and self-connection. Beyond the therapy room, I am committed to my own continuous growth—through community, meditation, reading, learning, being in nature, and ongoing training—so that I can show up fully for my clients. My goal is not only to be the best therapist I can be but also to be a person in the world who moves with integrity and does as little harm as possible.
