Getting to know Dr. Julie Hanks

I help women develop a strong sense of self and take good care of themselves while caring for others. I also support couples in creating partnership families. I have a particular interest in working with clients in and around the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who are struggling with faith crises, faith transitions, and mixed-faith marriages. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Utah and a PhD from the University of Louisiana, Monroe.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I love working with clients who are ready to change and motivated to engage fully in the therapy process. I have a unique gift for balancing support while gently helping you see your blind spots.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our initial visit will be a chance to get to know each other and make sure that you feel that I am a good fit for your needs. During the first few sessions I will continue to assess your situation and needs so I can provide the best and most effective treatment possible.
