Julie Iannone, LCSW-R

Julie Iannone, LCSW-R

Psychotherapist
NY
I am trained in both the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) — two evidence-based approaches that help couples communicate more effectively, feel truly heard and understood, and navigate conflict with greater ease. I hold a Master's in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University and an Advanced Clinical Practice certificate from NYU, which have deepened my understanding of the complexities of relationships and individual well-being. In therapy, I work alongside you to explore your relationship through a personal and insightful lens, offering support in real-time to help you identify and articulate your feelings and express what you most need. Together, we focus on fostering connection, trust, and intimacy — building a relationship where both partners feel secure and truly known.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As an active participant in the process, I may encourage you to pause, turn inward, and reframe complaints as deeper wishes or fears. I also offer exercises to work on between sessions, aimed at building positivity and strengthening your bond. By identifying both your relationship strengths and challenges, we tailor the treatment plan to meet your specific goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

With nearly three decades of experience working with individuals and couples, and specialized training from the Gottman Institute and in EFT, I bring a depth of expertise to my practice. I am licensed in New York and New Jersey and offer a complimentary 15-minute video consultation to see if we're a good fit. I meet with clients weekly for 60-minute sessions and provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. I look forward to connecting with you.
