Getting to know Julie Moreno

*This provider does not accept any Medicaid or Medicare plans* I help support clients as they confront anxiety, OCD, grief, and stress related to relationships, jobs, or everyday life. I also assist trauma survivors and those seeking to overcome body image issues. I have found that healing occurs when clients feel they are in a non-judgmental, safe space where they can share what they want, when they want. I strive to provide this welcoming environment for every client. Therapy helps uncover what holds us back, builds resilience, and fosters healthier, happier lives. I create a warm, inviting space, often infused with humor, where clients can share at their own pace. Outgoing by nature, I enjoy dance as both a hobby and a healing tool. I sew my own clothing, love fashion, and spend my time traveling, exploring cultures, and learning from others. Feeling intimidated by therapy is normal. Seeking support is a brave step that shows strength. Therapy is a choice, and it's never too early or late to start. I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can feel comfortable. I regularly check in to ensure the process feels right and adjust as needed to help you achieve your goals. Julie Moreno has a Master’s in Counseling from Stanford University and St. Bonaventure University. Julie is a Mental Health Counselor with a Limited Permit, MHC-LP 18-P131259-01 at Cerebral. Supervised by Nicole Barman, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHC 013501.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Life can present overwhelming challenges that prevent us from living fully. I’ve worked with clients facing issues like OCD, anxiety, depression, grief, body image struggles, and trauma. Together, we co-create coping skills and strategies to help them overcome these challenges and live happier, more fulfilling lives.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My aim is to help others with processing both everyday challenges as well as those that can hold us back from pursuing our goals. I provide clients with a warm, safe, non-judgmental space so they are comfortable sharing thoughts, feelings, or areas where they may be seeking change. Listening is a big part of what I do, and in our sessions together I will listen to what you have to say, again, without judgement. Although life can sometimes be overwhelming and therapy can be scary, I will be walking beside you to help you on this journey to foster your growth, and/or help you to change behavioral issues that you have identified you want to change. We’ll also celebrate your wins and learn more about how you are successful in your daily life. Finally, I believe in the power of humor, so we might have a laugh or two during our time together. Julie is always very kind and responsive in sessions. She helps you talk through your problems and helps provide lots of tools to help you handle what you’re going through. She has definitely been a big help to me in dealing with and overcoming the challenges I face .
I feel incredibly lucky that Julie was recommended to me. From our very first session, she created a space that felt safe, calm, and completely free of judgement. Julie is kind, thoughtful, and deeply compassionate — everything I needed from a therapist. She supported me through a huge trauma, gently helping me explore painful emotions I had buried for years. I never felt rushed or pressured. Instead, I always felt heard and understood. Her calm presence made it possible for me to open up in ways I didn’t think I could. Through our work together, I’ve not only begun to heal but also started to feel stronger and more at peace. I genuinely don’t know where I’d be now without her sessions. I can’t recommend Julie highly enough.
I really appreciated working with Julie. The way she explains things made it much easier for me to understand what I was experiencing, especially during moments when I felt overwhelmed or unsure. Her analogies—like the one about a cruise ship turning around—really stuck with me. I still refer to it often, and it’s helped me develop more patience with myself and the process of change. Julie also supported me in taking the first steps toward building my career. With her guidance, I found a program in my field that truly aligns with my goals, and I’ve already started it. I’m grateful for the clarity, encouragement, and practical tools she gave me. Working with her made a real difference in my life.
