All roads lead to Rome! It doesn't matter where we jump in, if you’re ready, we’ll get there. My POV is through a Neurodiverse-informed lens and incorporates Attachment Theory and C-PTSD with the idea that much of our conflict and distress stems from old wounds & unmet needs that can often be traced back to families of origin and pressures to conform to societal expectations in a neurotypical world. I incorporate trauma-informed, therapeutic modalities, such as A.R.T. (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), and am IFS-informed with a Buddhist Psychology perspective. I am a rabid ally and advocate for equality and trained in Ketamine-assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) I'm experienced in the complexities of neurodiversity, and am trained and experienced in Parental Alienation/Estrangement and reunification therapy, as well as other types of relational repair and enhancement, high-conflict divorce, trauma, grief & loss, addiction, suicide, 1st Generation issues, YA launching delays, phase of life transitions, as well as the anxiety, depression & existential angst that often accompanies this journey of life. I place high value on the delicacy of the therapeutic process and the importance of the client/therapist relationship, particularly among culturally diverse and Neurodiverse clients. There is no 1-size fits all. I honor the individual's journey. We are not meant to walk this earth alone and it's a privilege to accompany you on this experience of being human.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I aspire to connect deeply, resonantly and intuitively. I value the collaborative process and will offer recommendations, including books, podcasts, apps, and other resources that I feel apply to you specifically. While I am highly invested in the issues that initially bring you to therapy, I am often "kept around" by clients as an ongoing occasional touchstone. I have a number of areas of passion, interest and expertise, with a primary one being the painful experience of estrangement. Estrangement is one of the least talked about and most painful life circumstances there is. It's complicated and can be crippling. Though there are no guarantees these occurrences can ever be completely resolved, there are a variety of avenues to explore on the way to understanding, accepting, and healing. The reconciliation process is an extremely complex, fragile and nuanced process that requires an ability to walk the line and validate, translate and represent all parties.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I am always on the lookout to uncover the big and little T traumas. If I had a nickel for every client who told me they had no trauma in their history, well, I could buy a lot of over-priced coffees : ) To be clear, trauma is not just surviving assault, or war, or abuse, (though it is absolutely ALL those things), but it is anything, ANYTHING that overwhelms a person's emotional capacity to tolerate it. Equally as important is what resources and support you have. Was the care you received inadequate in navigating difficult experiences? Who was there to help you manage your pain? Or was that same person actually the source of your pain? How does that old pain/fear still show up today? And what can we do about it? There are many answers to be found there, and often many more questions. But all along the way, there is healing. I usually need to know about your family of origin. Which, I know, can be a mixed bag. I tend to rarely "blame" original caretakers (parents) however, ignoring the messages, patterns, and behaviors we internalized from those developmental years would be a detrimental oversight to understanding why you are who you are, feel what you feel, and do what you do. Additionally, I need to know how committed you are to doing the work. And to be clear, it is work. Emotional work. But it pays off. I promise.

More information on payments and coverage

Current rates start at Individuals: $150 for a 50-minute hour. Couples/Family: $175 for 50-minute hour though 80-minutes are advisable. KAP session are private-pay and billed at regular hourly rate. Insurance? I currently accept Optum/UnitedHealth and Aetna, which you can access through helloalma. For all other insurances, you may have out-of-network benefits, which means that insurance will reimburse you for a portion of our session cost. I have partnered with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network process automatically for you. With Thrizer, you will only have to pay your co-insurance for our sessions, instead of paying my full fee and waiting for reimbursements. This can save you on average 70% upfront on our sessions. During our intake process, I can help you verify if you have out-of-network benefits and how much your co-insurance would be. ? Private Pay I accept payment from all major credit cards and ZELLE. All digital fees are payable PRIOR to the time of service. I utilize the IVY app for credit card payment, which requires a working credit card on file. I increase my fees by a small percentage annually. I will give you notice as we are approaching the time when fees will be increased.
