Getting to know Julie Venis

I currently serve as the Director of Mental Health for a correctional-based healthcare organization. In this role, I interact with individuals from all walks of life. My therapeutic approach is integrative, combining evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and psychodynamic techniques tailored to each client’s unique needs. My passion lies in working with adults and teens dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and life transitions. I believe in the power of a strong therapeutic relationship, where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Together, we uncover underlying issues, build coping strategies, and develop a deeper understanding of self. My mental health career began with a local child services organization, which revealed gaps in the system and limited access to resources. I then worked at a children’s hospital, providing trauma response and grief therapy to those in crisis. I have counseled birth mothers considering adoption and at-risk youth in a pre-military setting. This background gives me a broad understanding that each person has unique battles. I am committed to creating a warm, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Boston University School of Social Work, which provided a strong foundation for my clinical skills and understanding of diverse populations. Outside of practice, I enjoy time with friends and family and exploring the outdoors with my pup, Louie. I am dedicated to ongoing professional development and regularly attend workshops and seminars to stay current with the latest advancements in psychology and psychotherapy.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
