Getting to know Julio Guerrero

I have been practicing as a clinician for over 16 years. I am a first-generation American and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from California State University, which has equipped me with the skills to support my clients effectively. In my work, I understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and I collaborate with my clients to develop meaningful solutions. My approach I believe in taking a collaborative approach and creating a unique clinical experience with each client. I use client-centered, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioral therapy approaches tailored to individual needs. My focus I work with any client who is open to the therapeutic process and motivated to change. My communication style My communication style is compassionate, genuine, direct, and non-judgmental. I am an active listener who validates my clients’ experiences. My journey to therapy Growing up in the home of immigrant parents, there were many times when we simply did not fit in. This fostered in me a deep compassion for others who were also struggling. I searched for ways to make an impact and joined the Marine Corps. It was a life-changing experience, but it did not quench my desire to help others. From there, I began my college career, explored various helping professions, and ultimately found that therapy gave me the opportunity to support others in a way that resonated deeply with me. It is a privilege to be part of my clients’ journeys to healing. My goals for you My goal is to support clients in their growth so they can experience relief from their stressors and increase satisfaction in their lives. My first session with you The first session is an opportunity for clients to share their experiences and what they desire from the therapeutic process.

I really like the fact that I’m able to connect with him easily because he was prior military as well as being Hispanic. So in regards to being able to express myself, he really has an insider perspective of what I go through.
I don’t know we just click. And he seems to understand me better since we both served in the military and both came from poverty. But i like how he doesn’t criticize me or take sides
