Pascual started off their social work career as an intern at The Pride Center of the Capital Region in Albany, NY, where they provided support to LGBTQIA+ community members. Mx. Pascual ran the youth space there and assisted the program director in programming. This was Mx. Pascual's internship while they were completing their BSW at The College of Saint Rose. When Mx. Pascual went back to Saint Rose for their master's degree, they interned at In Our Own Voices, Inc (IOOV). There, Mx. Pascual grew their clinical skills working with victims of domestic violence through IOOV's domestic violence program. Mx. Pascual assisted in agency wide events such as Unity Through Diversity: The Power of Unity, a national conference geared towards LGBTQIA+ people of color to discuss issues from health to HIV awareness, and mental health. Mx. Pascual additionally worked at Capital Pride each year since 2017, providing resources and HIV testing to community members. Mx. Pascual was hired at IOOV after completing their internship and graduating with their BSW. Mx. Pascual spearheaded a program called Project HYPE (Healthy Youth Through Prevention and Empowerment) in conjunction with Equinox Youth Outreach. The goal of this program was to assist LGBTQIA+ youth who were facing homelessness and engaging them in the program to obtain rapid safe housing. Mx. Pascual ran a HYPE youth outlet group at Hackett Middle School where there were topics discussed such as gender expression, bullying, and healthy relationships. Mx. Pascual was the facilitator for the WSW group "Our Space, Our Face" for ages 18+, and the group discussing sexual health called "Sexversations". Mx. Pascual also served as a certified HIV tester and counselor.
