Hi, I'm Jutarat Verduzco, but you can call me Joanne. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Oaks College. My approach is client-centered while utilizing evidence-based practices to empower clients to find their voice, build their self-esteem, and foster growth through understanding and accepting their experiences. I meet clients where they are, assisting them in developing coping strategies to manage emotions and implementing communication skills to build meaningful relationships. I specialize in helping adolescent and adult clients address depression, anxiety, and recovery from substance use. I provide a safe space for clients to explore their thoughts and experiences with unconditional positive regard. During my undergraduate program, I had the privilege of working alongside young children and their families facing learning disabilities, behavioral issues, and life transitions. From these experiences, I learned that treatment is not a “one size fits all.” I believe anyone can learn and heal if they give themselves a chance and understand that healing takes time. In goal setting, I invite clients to share what brings them to therapy and what they would like to work on during treatment. It is a collaborative process focused on ensuring the client is heard. During our first session, I inform clients of legal obligations, discuss the pros and cons of seeking treatment, and build rapport to determine if the therapeutic relationship is the right fit.
