I am a licensed therapist with a master’s degree in social work from UCLA. I have over 10 years of experience in trauma-focused work among adults, children, and adolescent populations. I specialize in the following areas: -Trauma -Anxiety - Relational issues -Christian Counseling I have seen practical and powerful breakthroughs in healing and recovery through the following modalities I use: - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) for trauma recovery -Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety treatment -The Gottman Method for couples therapy My other areas of unique expertise include: -Cycles of abuse based on my experience as a government Emergency Response Children’s Social Worker -Youth struggling with self-esteem, self-harm, and relational issues. I also specialize in Christian counseling by integrating faith-based perspective into sessions if faith plays a vital role in one’s life and growth process. I combine clinically proven counseling methods with Christian conviction and biblical insight. My desire is to understand your unique pain points and find healthy ways for you to cope and thrive in your faith and in your current season. Working with trauma survivors has sparked my interest in the growing number of studies revealing impacts of trauma on the brain. Therefore, I have completed an EDMR training based on my passion for integrating evidence-based models for trauma recovery into my practice. In short, EMDR reactivates different parts of disturbing memories and allows the brain to reprocess these experiences into positive ones. Utilizing this model in my practice has allowed me to witness the powerful transformation with my clients through expedited growth and healing. I also have training in CBT, which focuses on restructuring thought patterns and is particularly helpful with individuals struggling with anxiety. It is my priority to provide my clients with the most cutting-edge information.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am passionate about normalizing what you are going through and identifying barriers that are preventing you from living life fully. Everyone responds differently to distressing experiences and therefore have unique needs within the healing process. I believe in empowering you to own your narrative, discover your strengths, and achieve realistic goals to thrive in your daily life. My approach is strength based and integrative as I recognize everyone's journey is unique. Working within crisis intervention has granted me unique skills to understand the complexities of mental health and the impact of trauma. My background has given me the desire to dedicate my career to walking hand in hand with individuals through their mental health journey. My practice is grounded in recognizing that everyone deserves a customized path towards healing and recovery.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

It is my conviction to maintain a non-judgmental lens while pursuing a journey of self-compassion and grace. My desire is to understand your unique pain points and find healthy ways for you to cope and thrive in your current season. An initial session will be focused on gathering relevant information from you, identifying your needs, and structuring a customized treatment plan together including goals. Lastly, we will discuss the most appropriate treatment modalities that best met your needs for moving forward. I utilize various evidenced-based models, but also pay attention to specific needs that may require less structure at times. I like to measure progress based on your definition of what “thriving” in daily life looks like and feels like to you. Using this as a baseline, we can monitor progress and alter goals as needed to ensure that growth is occurring.
